Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works on TV and in films is best known for films like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. She was the sole daughter from Romanian actor Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into the showbiz world early and was playing lead roles in different TV dramas before she turned 16. In the Oscar nominated film Downfall, her role as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudljunge was also highly praised. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. Alexandra's work has led her to participate in several notable international and national projects. The projects comprise British biographical films Control and The Dust of Time as along with the French historic miniseries Napoleon. Other roles she has held include being juror at two festivals: and the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
